What does a real claim look like?

Here’s a closer look at some of the homes and families we’ve helped recently — and the steps we took to get things back to normal.

🏡 Escape of water claim - Rugeley (Part 1)

Restoring a Rugeley home after extensive water damage from loft to lounge.

🔎 What Happened?

After returning home, the tenants of this Rugeley property discovered water pouring through the lounge ceiling — a leak that had started in the loft and made its way down through the upstairs bedroom and into the living space below.

Initially, they tried to manage the damage themselves, unaware that professional help was even an option. Fortunately, they were referred to us and quickly got in touch with the landlord, who asked Concept Claim Solutions Stafford to step in.

🧰 How We Helped

As qualified BDMA (British Damage Management Association) Technicians, we carried out a full on-site survey and created a detailed, evidence-backed scope of works. We then:

  • Managed all communications with the insurer

  • Met with their appointed loss adjuster

  • Agreed the full schedule of reinstatement works

  • Oversaw every stage of drying, repair and finish

Thanks to a highly collaborative adjuster and proactive planning, we were able to complete the entire claim and repair process within 6 weeks — far faster than most water damage claims and a timeframe we are impressed with and proud of.

🧱 The Outcome

The landlord’s claim was approved in full, and all affected rooms were professionally reinstated. From collapsed ceiling to clean, fully restored rooms, the tenants were able to get back to normal with minimal disruption.

🏡 Escape of water claim - Rugeley (Part 2)

When one leak leads you to another.

🔎 What Happened?

After the initial water tank leak was dealt with, the tenants noticed more signs of water damage. It turned out to be a second, unrelated issue — a hidden leak from the shower. It had been slowly escaping and spreading unnoticed behind walls, ceilings and beneath floors.

They arranged for a trace and access engineer, who located and fixed the source — but by then, the damage was extensive. It had spread through the hall, stairs, landing, and kitchen, affecting both structure and finishings.

🧰 How We Helped

The damage wasn’t obvious at first glance — but on our full survey, it was clear this wasn’t a cosmetic patch-up.

We:

  • Scoped out all affected areas

  • Prepared a detailed, evidence-backed report

  • Worked with the insurer to agree the full extent of works

  • Organised strip-out, drying, repairs, and full reinstatement

🧱 The Outcome

Every damaged area — from ceilings to walls, floors, and cabinetry — was restored. The tenants could remain in the property throughout with minimal disruption, and the landlord had peace of mind the repairs were done properly and fully.
